EN 54 certification is the de-facto requirement on commercial, industrial, government, and high-occupancy projects across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Most tenders explicitly specify EN 54.

Conventional systems wire detectors in zones — the panel knows there is a fire condition somewhere in a zone but not which specific detector triggered. Addressable systems give each device a unique digital address so the panel reports the exact location of the fire condition in plain text. Addressable is the modern standard for any medium-large building.

Weekly call point test (one rotating point), monthly visual inspection, six-monthly functional test of all devices, annual full system test with maintenance certificate. TSB Smart Tech offers annual maintenance contracts that include all scheduled tests.

Detectomat smoke detectors are designed for a 10-year service life with annual cleaning. Replacement is recommended at the 10-year mark to maintain reliability and certificate validity.
